MODO presents in Cuba

1st International Design Biennial of Havana

07 Apr 2016

MODO School of Design has been invited to participate in the 1st International Design Biennial of Havana. The theme is “Design and Prosperity.” It’s purpose is to promote the importance of design for personal and social growth – and recognize the contributions of design and its strategic involvement in the industrial, economic, social and cultural development of society.

Organized by Cuba’s National Bureau of Design, it will be an amazing week of practitioner presentations across many disciplines, including graphic design, interior design, education, industrial design, and much more. Also – the XVI Congress of the Latin American Design Association is gathering that same week as part of the conference.

Needless to say, we feel honored and extremely lucky to be part of it. As educators, this opportunity to share what MODO is doing with academics and design students is incredible. As designers we plan to learn so much from the conference and look forward to bringing it back to our peers and students in Miami. This is a conversation that, we hope, will be the beginning of regular, collaborative discourse between Miami and the island we love so much.

There will be more news to come. In the meantime, email us if you have any questions about the event. We hope you’re as excited as we are.
